We used a Canon 1Dx Mark 2 with an EF 28 to 300mm lens set at f/5 andat 1/800th of a sec

Taking photographs was hardbecause the flying black sand got in our eyes and mouths and on our camera lenses and our hands froze when we tried took of our heavy mittens so as to push our camera's shutter release buttons

The sound of my camera shutter release awoke the three geese and they instantly went from sleep to running on the water to gather speed for their take-off
